This is a (meandering, pleasurable, unexpected) joy to read. It made me want to get out in the wetlands behind our house with my three boys again.

Also I want a plushie skull.

PS: Possums is stupid. We see them all the time, out foraging for cigarette butts and worms in broad daylight.

Very excited for you... this "attention from an unexpected area. I have visions of a movie deal a la Twilight with hordes of screaming fans. Well perhaps not the right demographic, but the lovely post from your girl would perhaps indicate one screaming fan! And as for twittering a birth I'm with your wife...just too much information.
Had to Google Aurohn to see where it was. I'm in Toronto so its cold here too. I'm in the city but close to a marshland/park area so no deer but lots of birds...foxes., geese flying over and skidding to a stop on a man made lake, which is what sold us this house! It's lovely though to be in the city, but next to a piece of green space to be in. Stay well, keep writing and know there are loads of people rooting for you. All that positive energy HAS to make a difference.
Oh by the way just finished Assam and Darjeeling (im so sad) and particularly loved the attention you gave to the last chapter, rather than rushing throug as some authors are wont to do...and the icing on the cake was the change of pic to show "jee" on the hill...just lovely. On to another century and "Mortology".
An entertaining read is CBC's Vinyl Cafe series which often makes me laugh out loud...worth downloading to your ipod, or perhaps you know it already.
