I find myself doing the same thing! I am a huge Chuck Palahnuik fan…and when I can’t find anything worth reading and my writing has gone stale, I pick up one of his books and it somehow resparks my interest and creativity.

Hi Thom (ah T.M.),
Our Bible study last nite had the question, “Can you remember a bad experience, that God used for good?”
Well, I knew having that computer business based on CP/M (OS before MSDOS) was a bad financial experience, but I had no idea how much good God used it for.
You have been a great friend to my son, and I always enjoyed watching you grow up.

And yes, life has many twisty windy passages and cattycombs.

Thank you for bringing back these memories.

Hmm… That is about how I remember it, except we were both going through a jack-hole-phase when we were room-mates, but thank you for taking that hit all on your own. I think we should blame our poor behavior on the women we were dating at the time since they are no longer around to defend themselves.
Also, I wrote an adventure game template program during junior high. Turned out that was pretty influential for my career too.
Do remember when we actually finished that game? We were never able to beat the last puzzle until you found another copy of the game in college – and then we took a final crack at. I think the game in my dad’s office was broken such that the last puzzle was unbeatable because dropping the dynamite in one corner of the room and lighting in the other corner is something we definitely would have tried.
Good story. I can still recite that game from memory – scary, eh?

If there is still a copy I’d love one to give to my daughters. I listened to the entire podcast and I loved it. And while I seriously love a cup of tea I just as completely hate snow and winter. If winter involved staying inside and curling up with a good book and a cup of tea I would be happy. However, since I have to drive, shovel and pay for oil to heat, I’d rather my tea in a more moderate climate. :)

Although Autumn is my favorite season, Winter is the next best. I love the short days and long nights, and if far enough from the city, the stars which at this time do look like a firmament.
