{"id":1104,"date":"2026-03-11T08:13:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T13:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tmcamp.com\/yesod\/?p=1104"},"modified":"2026-03-11T08:14:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T13:14:00","slug":"ratio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tmcamp.com\/yesod\/ratio\/","title":{"rendered":"ratio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I raise my head and when the professor calls on me I ask \u201cAre these real numbers?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She pauses and narrows her eyes, hand frozen in mid-motion on the chalkboard where she\u2019d been writing out the tables for the various ratios she was explaining. \u201cHow do you&nbsp;mean?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stand up and go to the front of the class, gesturing to the board. \u201cDo these numbers actually do what you\u2019re saying they\u2019ll do every single time, or are there situations where it changes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I look back at the rest of the students. \u201cSee, I\u2019m not afraid to ask the stupid questions for the rest of you. You\u2019re welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The professor gives me a look. \u201cWhy would they change?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"dquo\">\u201c<\/span>I don\u2019t know. I\u2019m not good at math.
