\u201c<\/span>Can I borrow your trash can?\u201d he asks. \u201cWe\u2019re getting ready to head out on vacation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>Of course,\u201d I tell him. \u201cJust don\u2019t let the missus know I let you see our garage.\u201d I lead him back along the side of our house to the garage door where he waits patiently, making small talk while I try to get the old malfunctioning automatic door open.<\/p>\n Eventually he says \u201cI gotta get going, thanks for your help...\u201d and leaves the bag behind for me to deal with, handing me a broken white dowel he found on the ground to help prop the door open.<\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>Have a good trip,\u201d I tell him.
