The Truth About Cats And Dogs
I bought a new pair of shoes a week or so ago.
Well, not “new” — I got them at a thrift store for ten bucks. They’re the first pair of non Doc Martens I’ve had in years. They’re sort of a low black boot, slightly pointed, but not so much so that they’re “Mod” or anything.
They are, however, about two sizes too large for me. I feel a bit like Buster Keaton in them. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.
(But when I said to Tracy “Do my feet look freakishly long in these shoes?” She assured me that I did not, in fact, look like I was in the circus or anything.)
But the person who owned them before me had different feet. I can feel where the contours of their feet don’t quite match up with mine. I just noticed that there’s a dull ache in the base of both heels.
So, tonight, my dogs will be barking and the cat will be crying.
