Many Thanks…

…to the people who pointed out that the new Wilco album ‘A Ghost is

Born’ has already seen an (ahem) unofficial release online and that the band

came up with a creative way for people

who got their hands on it early to assuage their collective guilt and still enjoy the music before the June 22 release date. Doctors Without Borders is a force of good, after all.

The new album is definitely Wilco, although not quite what you might expect

after ‘Yankee Hotel Foxtrot’ — which is a good thing, after all — but it

fits in quite nicely to a shuffle list of the Minus 5 and Loose Fur

projects, all of their previous albums, and a handful of rare live recordings.

2004 is a pretty good year for Wilco fans, all things considered: A new

album, another biography (which seems redundant after ‘I Am Trying To Break

Your Heart’), and a collection of Tweedy’s poetry.

Yeah, it’s been a good year but come back soon, Jeff.
