All in the Family

Making lunches this morning with Julia…

“Are you looking forward to going back to school?”

“Yeah, I need to talk to my teachers.”

“What about?”

“Oh, I’ve been working on a couple of new plays.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“What are they?”

“Well, the one I just finished is called ‘The Sister’s Apprentice.'”

“What’s it about?”

“It’s about a girl . . . well, I’m not quite done yet. I need to find out what ‘apprentice’ means.”

“It means ‘assistant’ or ‘helper.'”

“Oh yeah, that’s right.”

“What’s the other play called?”

“It’s called ‘Animals in Danger.'”

“What’s that one about?”

“It’s about . . . animals.”

“Are they in danger?”

“Did I tell you about that one already?”

“Just a guess.”

“Yeah, so those are both finished. I mean, in my head they’re finished. I still need to write them down.”

“Yeah, I know how that goes.”
