Talking with my father…
“…and I have some other interesting news.”
“Okay.”
“Your grandfather is getting married.”
(pause)
“Really?”
“Well, I missed it.”
“Missed what?”
“I predicted how each of you would react when you heard the news. I said that Scott would say ‘Whaaat?’ when he heard, which he did. And I predicted Jim would go [insert chuckle noise]. And I predicted that you would say ‘Wow.'”
“Sorry I let you down.”
“Well, here’s the other piece of news: He’s only known her two weeks.”
“Wow.”
“And he wants me to do the wedding.”
“Wow.”
