Six Pomegranate Seeds

She came today. I was out of the office, so Tracy phoned me special to tell me she had arrived. So later in the day, once we’d gotten back from Hastings and ballet lessons were finished, I went and picked her up.

She’s very lovely.

I used to carry around a black computer, sleek and black and clever, that the folks at work entrusted me with. I named it after the Japanese god of business.

But he fell and it appears that even Jeremy cannot raise hime from the dead.

But . . . I finally have a computer again.

As with every other piece of technology in my life, I have given her a name.

Persephone came today, with winter fast approaching.

Sometimes she was called “Kore” (which, Keeley once told me, means “maiden”).

So. I’m back, with a new girl.

You can get one of your own, just go to Apple and sell your soul like I did.

Persephone. She’s very lovely — sleek and snowy white, and inside she’s smooth and somewhat papery to the touch.

Good night…
