Was I offended by the sight of Janet Jackson’s bare left breast on national television?
Not really. I mean, lots of kids were watching and I think that parents should have a right to expect certain levels of restraint from a major network.
Now what I find far more offensive is that the various spokespeople for the performers and the networks think I’m stupid enough to believe that it wasn’t planned and rehearsed.
Timberlake’s statement in particular is irritatingly disingenuous: “I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl . . . It was not intentional and is regrettable.”
“Wardrobe Malfunction” Justin?
Whatever.
