Weekend Naps, Electrical Storms, and The Trouble with Grandparents
Spent most of the holiday weekend either on the couch or in bed, quickly collapsing into a dreamy state right after doing an airport drop-off at 5 AM on Friday morning.
Went out last night for a while, coming home to find that electrical storms knocked out the power. Spent an hour or so in the dark before going to bed.
Yup. Sounds like a real waste of time, I know. But it was exactly what I needed. I could have spent another week of days doing it all over again.
But, y’know, the world needs websites too.

For those who have asked, the kids got to California just fine . . . once again proving my parental paranoia to be a worthless waste of energy (but, y’know, the one time I’m not paranoid could be the one time that it was needed most. So shut up and let me be a little crazy. It’s what I’m best at.)
Although they are now physically safe, the kids are currently in the presence of grandparents for the next four weeks — which means I’ll likely be getting back small goblin-like creatures, who might have once been children, creatures that vaguely resemble my own children in many ways . . . minus all the manners and self-restraint that I have worked so hard to emboss into their tiny little psyches over the past eight or so years . . . just like last year. Sigh.
